FDB

Ib Antoni had many exciting collaborations with customers from all over the world – including FDB. FDB was founded way back in 1896 and one year after the first business was established; a coffee roastery. Several factories followed and thus an expanded production, such as tobacco, chocolate, soap, margarine and shoes. A large number of classic brands were launched, such as Circle Kaffe, that still exists today. And it was, among other things, for Circle Kaffe that Ib Antoni started drawing for FDB.

One of FDB’s goals was to be able to provide the Danes with quality furniture at affordable prices in the post-war years. Børge Mogensen, the famous furniture designer, was the manager of the furniture design studio in FDB from 1942-1950 and some of his greatest classics were created in collaboration with FDB. The furniture designer Hans J. Wegner, whom Ib Antoni also illustrated in the beautiful motif made for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also worked in FDB’s furniture design studio for a period.

As Antoni Legacy is constantly working on cleaning Ib Antoni’s beautiful original drawings, one can never know when a new illustration from Antoni’s hand will see the light of day. But when the illustration is ready for reproduction, it is added to the collection on this page, both under Products, Illustrations and the client for which the illustration is designed. If you have a special interest in, or further knowledge about an Antoni-illustration or an Antoni-customer, you are more than welcome to contact us.
