When the British royal family visited Denmark in May 1957, they visited the Carlsberg breweries together with Queen Ingrid, King Frederik and a very young Princess Margrethe.

When Queen Elizabeth was presented with the new, smart and now motorized Carlsberg trucks with Antoni’s figures down the side, she laughed and said, according to Aarhus Stiftstidende: “‘Well, he looks exactly like an English sailor,’ the young, laughing queen, herself married to a mariner, confides to her companion.”

The photo of the mirthful Queen Elizabeth, white-gloved hand gesturing towards Antoni’s drawings, was seen around the world and helped greatly in the acceleration of Antoni’s career.
