The Lucky Musician

Illustration 041

This lovely illustration was drawn in 1959 and it is a part of a series made for the Israeli manufacturer of oranges, Jaffa, who grew and sold Shamouti oranges.

The name Jaffa originates from the city by the same name, a suburb to Tel Aviv – and one of the oldest cities in the world. It was jewish farmers, that started growing the oranges in Palestine in the middle of the 1900s.

This particular and very happy guitar player is so lucky to have an orange falling down into his hat.

This illustration was made in 1959 for Jaffa.
