This illustration from 1968, is a part of a larger series; Denmark in Britain, made for The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

Here we see the classical beefester, installed by Henry the 7th in 1585, where they acted as the personal life guards of the British Monark. Now they are guardians of the Tower of London in Great Britain.

The formal title of a beefeater is Yeoman Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, and member of the Sovereign’s Body Guard of the Yeomen Guard Extraordinary.

This illustration was made for The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark in 1968.
